Welcome to the website of the North East Wales branch of the Motor Neurone Disease Association (formerly known as the Clwyd branch).
The branch is run by volunteers and serves the North and North East Wales counties of Wrexham, Flintshire, Denbighshire and part of Conwy.
The branch has been running since 1996 with the aim of helping all those in the area who are living with Motor Neurone Disease (MND), as well as their carers, family and friends.
Support Meetings Cancelled
Following guidance from the MND Association we are cancelling our Support Meetings at Bellis and Tweedmill until further notice due to the spread of coronavirus in the UK. This is to reduce the risk of spreading the virus to people with MND or those in contact with them.
If you need further support the MND Connect helpline - 0808 802 6262 - is available Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm and 7pm to 10pm.
Thank you for your understanding.
We provide support in the form of advice and information, liaison with the health and social care professionals, specialist equipment and meeting others going through the same experience.
Keep up to date with the latest branch and national MND Association news and campaigns.
FUNDRAISING AND DONATIONS
As a registered charity the Motor Neurone Disease Association is funded by public donations and relies on Groups and Branches to assist with fundraising to support the important work that it undertakes.
Details of upcoming branch fundraising events and meetings. If you are planning a fundraising event for the MND Association then let us know and we will help publicise it.
We hold two sets of monthly Branch Support Meetings – one in the evenings in Wrexham and a second set at lunchtimes in St Asaph. These meetings allow anyone affected by MND in the local area to share experiences and ideas – all welcome.
Contact local branch committee members if you would like more information, to volunteer to help, or to make a donation. We also have details for MND Association regional members of staff, and also national resources and helplines.
